E-waste Recycling at Merced Fairgrounds April 5-6

If you bought a new TV or laptop and you don’t know what to do with your old TV or computer, bring it to the Merced County Fairgrounds this weekend, April 5-6, or next weekend, April 12-13, and recycle it at the free E-waste recycling event.

The Fairgrounds is located at 900 Martin Luther King Jr. Way and the E-waste recycling drop site will be at the 11th Street parking lot, near the G Street entrance, between G and H streets.

The Fair is teaming up again this year with the City of Merced’s annual Spring Cleanup. During the first two weekends in April, the City of Merced will hold one of its four annual Spring Cleanup sites at the fairgrounds’ location. The fairgrounds’ E-waste recycling and four spring Cleanup locations will be open from 6:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. both weekends.

$3.25 Million Lottery Win

SACRAMENTO – A new car. A new house? Those are all things you expect to hear from someone describing their plans after winning the Lottery. However, Salvador Marquez sees even bigger things in his family’s future following his surprise win.

Marquez hit the top prize on a $5 California Lucky for Life Scratchers® ticket he purchased at a gas station in Fresno County. (You can see a scanned image of his winning ticket below, complete with the word “LIFE” on line one.) That’s $3.25 million! Marquez will have the option of selecting a lump sum payment of $1.9 million or weekly payments of $2,500 a week for 25 years. Either way, his newfound wealth is automatically exposing a wealth of opportunity that simply wasn’t there earlier.

Help A Family Honor Their Daughter's Wishes

Help A Family Honor Their Daughter's Wishes

Brittany Wilkinson's wish was to help people understand Mitochondrial Disease, and show compassion to people of all abilities. Now, her family and legion of friends carry on that wish. She brought awareness all the way to Washington DC, became the Youth Ambassador for The United Mitochondria Disease Foundation, helped bring awareness to our Central Valley communities with Mito Week every September, and touched the lives with her Grace, Hope and unwaivering Faith.

You are invited to help continue that wish. KMPH FOX 26's Kim Stephens MC's this event every year. There is a delicious dinner with compelling and interresting speakers, along with a generous raffle and many alluring silent auction items.
